About this class
Who it’s for
For people who find sitting on the floor difficult, those practising around an injury, or anyone interested in a different approach.
Why this practice
The chair gives you another way to work on strength and mobility. This is a full yoga practice, not simply a gentle alternative for older adults.
How I teach it
I teach strengthening, joint mobilisation, isolation movements and mobility drills, alongside pranayama, meditation and relaxation. We discuss adaptations around injuries before joining.
What a session explores
- Strengthening exercises and joint mobilisation
- Isolation movements and mobility drills
- Pranayama, meditation and relaxation
Who it suits
Everyone is welcome, whether you want a supported practice or a different movement challenge. Chair yoga is not limited to older adults or beginners. If you have an injury, tell us about it before joining so we can discuss suitable adaptations.
What to bring
For every class, please bring your own yoga mat (BYOM), a water bottle and warm layers for relaxation.
